MM2H agent list: check a licence before you pay
The ministry keeps the only official MM2H agent list: a register of licensed MM2H companies on its MM2H website. Every application goes through one of these companies, so the first check is whether yours is on it, and whether its licence is still running.
We read that register on the date shown below and counted it ourselves. We do not copy the list, rank it or rate it. This page shows you what the register holds, what a licence tells you, and how to check any company in a few minutes.
MM2H licensed agent: how to check one
Ask the agent for their company name and MM2H licence number in writing, then check both against the ministry register yourself. Do not rely on a screenshot the agent sends you.
- Open the ministry register of licensed MM2H companies on the MM2H website.
- Find the exact company name, and match the licence number as well as the name. The numbers look like MM2H followed by digits.
- Read the validity dates beside the licence. Today must fall between the start and the end date.
- Check the address and the contact details on the register against what the agent gave you. If they differ, ask why before you pay.
- Keep a dated screenshot of the entry. The register can change, and a date on your copy is your record.
MM2H registered agents: what we counted
On the register we read, 246 companies hold an MM2H licence number. Of these, 206 have a validity end date on or after the day we read it, and 40 do not. A company with several branch addresses appears once, under its licence number.
The ministry register prints no expired flag, so the split is our own date comparison. Other websites that copy the register may show different totals, because they read on a different day.
| Count | Companies |
|---|---|
| Licence numbers on the register | 246 |
| Validity end date on or after the read date | 206 |
| Validity end date before the read date | 40 |
| Still valid but ending within 90 days | 33 |

A licence is checked at one date, not for the whole process
Licences on the register run for different lengths, from one year to six. Of the companies still valid when we read the register, 33 end within 90 days. An MM2H application takes time, so a licence that is valid today may end before your application finishes.
Ask the agent when their licence ends and what happens to your application if it is not renewed. Get the answer in writing.

Where the licensed companies are
The register prints one head-office address per company. Where that address is does not decide where the company can help you, since applications are handled through the One Stop Centre. The split below is only so you can see how the register is spread.
| State or territory (head-office address) | Valid companies |
|---|---|
| Kuala Lumpur | 100 |
| Selangor | 52 |
| Johor | 24 |
| Penang | 16 |
| All other states | 14 |

What a licence does not tell you
The register tells you a company is licensed and until when. It does not tell you the company is good, how much it charges, or whether past clients were happy. We do not rate or recommend any company on this page, and a place on the register is not our endorsement.
Before you pay, get the fee, what it covers and when each payment falls due, in writing.
Common questions
›Is there an official MM2H agent list?
Yes. The ministry publishes a register of licensed MM2H companies on the MM2H website, with each licence number and its validity dates. It is the list to check against.
›Can I apply for MM2H without an agent?
Not directly. The ministry guidelines say applications are submitted and completed through an MM2H business licensed under the Tourism Industry Act 1992.
›How do I know if an MM2H agent licence has expired?
Find the company on the ministry register and read the validity dates beside its licence number. The register does not flag expired entries, so compare the end date with today.
›Why do other sites show a different number of agents?
Sites that copy the register read it on different days, and licences start and end all the time. They may also count a company with several branch addresses more than once. Our count is one per licence number, read on the date shown.
›Do you recommend an agent?
No. We do not rank or rate companies. If you use our enquiry form, your details go to an agent we work with, and you decide whether to take it further.
